....INSTALLATION

Whilst a central vacuum system can be installed in most existing homes, the best time to install a central vacuum system is at the time of initial construction, carrying out an extension or renovation. At this time walls are open and easily accessible, facilitating planning and installation. However, more and more systems are now being installed in existing homes with a minimum of disturbance. Central vacuum systems can be installed by professional installers or can be purchased on a DIY basis. However, you'll want to discuss with the professionals ideas regarding the location of vacuum inlets and where to locate the power unit. It's also important to know when the installation takes place during house construction

........FAQ

How does the system work?
Your central vacuum power unit is located in the garage or utility room. A 50mm vacuum duct runs from the power unit to strategically located automatic vacuum inlets throughout the house. All you need to carry is the lightweight hose. The power unit will start automatically once the end of the hose is inserted into the automatic inlet.
Can a longer hose be used?
Yes, 7m and 9m hoses are the standard supplied length, but a longer length of up to 15m is available. Longer hoses are only recommended where fitting the ideal number of inlets is not possible.
Do I really need this system if my floors are going to be wooden / tiled?
Yes - a central vacuum system is especially suitable for wooden floors because of the need to vacuum these rather than brushing them which raises dust onto fabrics, furniture etc. A special hard floor brush is supplied with all our systems for this purpose.
How does a Beam System Improve Indoor Air Quality?
Unlike portable vacuums, a central vacuum system does not exhaust dirty, allergen-laden air back into the living areas. With up to 5 times more suction power, the system removes far more dust, debris and allergy-causing particles.
Is the suction power maintained throughout the Home?
Yes! A properly installed system offers the same powerful cleaning performance at every inlet whatever the distance from the power unit. The suction remains the same at the furthest away inlet because of the high performance industrial strength motor providing the vacuum. Immediately the motor starts, the air is drawn from the ducting, causing continuous suction while the motor runs.
How often do you need to empty the bin?
The large capacity dirt receptacle only needs to be emptied 2-3 times a year. And there's no messy bags to change.
Can my system get blocked?
Blockages rarely occur because the cleaning wands are 28mm diameter and the ducting which runs to the power unit is 50mm diameter. However, if a blockage does occur it can be easily cleared. For further details contact your Beam dealer for immediate advice.
Can I install the system myself?
Yes. Our systems are sold for DIY installation or on a completely installed basis by your authorised dealer. A detailed installation manual and a step-by-step DVD comes complete with every system.
Can a central vacuum system be installed in my existing home?
Yes, in most cases. Our built-in vacuum systems can be installed in most homes in less than a day, depending on the size and style of house. A survey will determine how the system could be installed.
What's the guarantee?
All our domestic central vacuum systems are covered by a 5 year / 500 hours parts and labour warranty on the vacuum motor and electrics. There is a lifetime warranty on the body of the power unit and pipework as long as you own your own home. There is also a 1 year guarantee on the cleaning tools.
How much does a Beam System cost?
Surprisingly, a system often costs much less than many portable vacuums, and adds to a home's resale value. Beam prices range from €000.00 + VAT for a complete DIY vacuum system, depending on the size of house and the number of inlets required.
